Suzanne Dixon has 25 years of experience as a nonprofit executive leader in the conservation field. She has worked extensively on public land stewardship policy and has excelled at coalition-building, federal advocacy, individual-donor fundraising, and public communications. Prior to co-founding Thunderbird Strategies, she served as Senior Vice President at the National Audubon Society, where she co-led the unification and transformation of Audubon’s Center Network from a nature
center model into conservation action centers that inspire action and build local community partnerships. Previous leadership positions included President and CEO of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, as well as senior leadership roles with the National Parks Conservation
Association.

Amy brings expertise in setting strategic vision, developing effective implementation plans, and building partner
Amy has over 25 years of executive leadership experience in international non-profit organizations, domestic political organizations, the Executive and Legislative branches of the U.S. Government, and educational institutions. Amy brings expertise in setting strategic vision, developing effective implementation plans, and building partnerships. She has led policy initiatives that have successfully advanced Executive Branch action and legislative victories throughout her career. Amy most recently served as Senior Vice President at the National Audubon Society, overseeing national field operations in achieving strategic conservation and advocacy goals and resource management. Amy also brings experience from senior leadership roles at Human Rights First and the Women’s Campaign Fund, as well as government service at the U.S. Department of State and on Capitol Hill earlier in her career.
